Manufacturer's Description

The REGZA AV61 series is the ideal digital and HD Ready LCD TV for the budget-conscious home. The series features Active Vision, our high performance picture processing technology. This technology is constantly evolving to take advantage of technical advancements designed to enhance the colour, detail, movement and contrast of the images you watch. Available in 26, 32 and 37 inch screen sizes, the AV61 series boasts a contemporary black gloss finish, with narrow bezels and new slim speakers. The stylish design hides a wealth of technology, including 3 x HDMI™ slots, a PC Input connection and powerful audio performance from the integrated stereo speakers

Digital TV
Between now and the end of 2012 the UK will be turning off all old “analogue” TV transmitters and switching your TV signal to “digital”. Digital TV offers new ways to enjoy your TV. You will have a greater choice of TV channels as well as access to additional features and services which will enhance your TV-watching experience.
When the digital switch happens in your area, your older analogue TVs will no longer be able to pick up a signal. To keep your normal TV service running, you will need to convert your TVs to digital before your area’s switchover date.

Switching your home to digital is easy. All you need to do is purchase digital tuner and connect it to your analogue TV or alternatively, you can replace it with a new digital TV. All Toshiba LCD TVs carry the Digital Tick and come with Freeview built-in, making them the ideal option for preparing your home for the digital switch.

Active Vision
Active Vision is our acclaimed high performance picture processing system. It has been designed to produce high quality, high definition images by enhancing core elements of a television picture:

Detail: Images are now spread over a larger number of smaller pixels compared to a conventional LCD TV.

Colour: Active Vision reproduces colours with more tones than conventional LCD televisions, producing images with reduced banding for a smoother, more realistic colour progression.

Movement: Picture sharpness in fast moving scenes is increased, with a reduction in the jagged edges often seen on lines and fine detail.

Contrast: The monitoring and adjustment of contrast, enhances detail and increases the ability of the television to represent subtle shade changes.

Dynamic Contrast
Dynamic Contrast decreases the TV’s backlight brightness in dark scenes and increases brightness in highly-lit scenes. Getting the best picture detail requires the right balance between brightness and contrast, too much or too little of either is a problem.

Toshiba’s Dynamic Contrast technology automatically adjusts the LCD panel backlight, depending on the level of brightness required by the original signal. Dimming the backlight enables the system to reproduce fine detail and render dark scenes more realistically, with blacks having much greater depth. Increasing backlight brightness for scenes requiring more colour, produces more vibrant images with a greater intensity.

HDMI
Put simply, HDMI is the new industry standard for the connection of home entertainment equipment.

High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) connections between TV, DVD and other digital equipment are gradually replacing older SCART connections and make it possible to deliver high definition pictures and sound to your HD Ready TV.

The REGZA AV61 Series has 3 HDMI connections, making it possible to connect 3 HD sources (satellite -TV, DVD, games consoles etc) to your TV at any one time.

22LH2000
The LH2000 series introduces the greener side of innovation. The LH2000 series is not only HD Ready but is also certified by the Energy Saving Trust for saving you money off your electricity bills.

HD Ready
High-definition television, or HDTV, is a new standard of TV with better-quality picture and sound than normal TV, the sort of standard you would see at a cinema. HDTV brings you closer to the action, offering more colours and a higher resolution picture (twice as many horizontal lines). This can make HDTV images clearer, sharper, more detailed and very lifelike.

Freeview/Digital
With LG, you’ll be ready for the digital switchover. By 2012, all areas of the UK will receive TV in digital as opposed to analogue. Freeview is a subscription free service which brings up to 48 digital TV channels including ITV2, E4, BBC3, and Film4, plus 24 digital radio stations, no contract and no satellite dish.

To check if you can receive Freeview in your area, text your postcode followed by your house number or name to 83331* or visit www.freeview.co.uk

HDMI
Connect your games console, blu-ray player or home cinema system through the HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) port for a true High Definition multimedia experience.

AV Mode
LG TVs have three special modes (Cinema, Sport and Game modes) for enhanced picture and audio quality. These are easily accessible using the AV MODE hot key on the remote control. Cinema Mode - Watch movies with vivid colour, smoother motion and cinematic sound effect. Sport Mode – Takes you closer to the action by emphasising the main colours and reducing motion blur. Game Mode – Optimises the TV for computer and / or games console for a more dynamic gaming experience.

Invisible Speaker
The front bezel works as a speaker, replacing the normal speaker grill. With the Invisible Speaker System, the speakers are embedded in strategic spots underneath and around the front bezel. They enhance the audio by increasing the ‘sweet spot’ to give a wider and richer sound field. This speaker system provides a clean and fashionable design compared with traditional side or bottom speaker designs.

Energy Saving Recommended
An Energy Saving Recommended Integrated Digital Television (IDTV) can save around £7 a year and 20 kilograms of CO2 each year compared to a similar TV and set top box; they are amongst the most efficient in their class. There are over 16 million terrestrial digital TV receivers in the UK, and if these were upgraded to IDTVs it would save around £112 million in energy bills. With energy-saving features such as ‘Video Mute’, mechanical power-off switch and ‘Intelligent Sensor’, LG has one of the largest ranges of TVs registered to the Energy Saving Trust’s Energy Saving Recommended scheme. To gain entry to the Energy Saving Recommended scheme products have to meet strict criteria to ensure that they are amongst the most efficient in the market place. Launch any one of your Wi-Fi-dependent apps, such as Safari or iTunes, and you’re on. Some wireless networks may require a password, but iPod touch has that covered, too. Just enter the password once, and iPod touch remembers it. So the next time you’re within range of that network, you’re connected automatically.

Safari
Safari — an advanced web browser designed for Mac and PC computers — also comes on iPod touch. Just connect to a Wi-Fi network, and you can use Safari for nearly everything you do using a web browser on a computer. In fact, web pages look exactly the same on iPod touch as they do on your computer.

A new feature of iPod touch makes finding cool new apps even easier. It’s Genius for apps, and it works just like Genius for your music. Tap the Genius icon and get recommendations for apps that you might like based on those you already downloaded.

Accelerometer
The accelerometer inside iPod touch detects when you rotate iPod touch from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes what you see onscreen. But the beauty of the accelerometer comes into play when you’re actually in play. For instance, in racing games where your entire iPod becomes the steering wheel. Or balance games, such as Topple.

Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince [DVD] [2009]

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
The sixth installment of the Harry Potter series begins right where The Order of the Phoenix left off. The wizarding world is rocked by the news that "He Who Must Not Be Named" has truly returned, and the audience finally knows that Harry is "the Chosen One"--the only wizard who can defeat Lord Voldemort in the end. Dark forces loom around every corner, and now regularly attempt to penetrate the protected walls of Hogwarts School. This is no longer the fun and fascinating world of magic from the first few books—it's dark, dangerous, and scary.

Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) suspects Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) to be a new Death Eater recruit on a special mission for the Dark Lord. In the meantime, Professor Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) seems to have finally removed the shroud of secrecy from Harry about the dark path that lies ahead, and instead provides private lessons to get him prepared. It's in these intriguing scenes that the dark past of Tom Riddle (a.k.a. Voldemort) is finally revealed. The actors cast as the different young versions of Riddle (Hero Fiennes-Tiffin and Frank Dillane) do an eerily fantastic job of portraying the villain as a child. While the previous movies' many new characters could be slightly overwhelming, only one new key character is introduced this time: Professor Horace Slughorn (with a spot-on performance by Jim Broadbent). Within his mind he holds a key secret in the battle to defeat the Dark Lord, and Harry is tasked by Dumbledore to uncover a memory about Voldemort's darkest weapon--the Horcrux. Despite the long list of distractions, Harry, Ron (Rupert Grint), and Hermione (Emma Watson) still try to focus on being teenagers, and audiences will enjoy the budding awkward romances. All of the actors have developed nicely, giving their most convincing performances to date.

More dramatic and significant things go down in this movie than any of its predecessors, and the stakes are higher than ever. The creators have been tasked with a practically impossible challenge, as fans of the beloved J.K. Rowling book series desperately want the movies to capture the magic of the books as closely as possible. Alas, the point at which one accepts that these two mediums are very different is the point at which one can truly enjoy these brilliant adaptations. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is no exception: it may be the best film yet. For those who have not read the book, nail-biting entertainment is guaranteed. For those who have, the movie does it justice. The key dramatic scenes, including the cave and the shocking twist in the final chapter, are executed very well. It does a perfect job of setting up the two-part grand finale that is to follow. --Jordan Thompson

DVD Description
Own one of this year's coolest Christmas gifts: Harry Potter and the Half Blood-Prince Limited Death Mask Edition, offered exclusively through Amazon.co.uk. While you cannot wear the mask, it definitely will be a fine collector's item to show off on your DVD shelf.

Adolescent wizard-in-training Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts for another year of schooling and learns more about the dark past of the boy who grew up to become Lord Voldemort in this, the sixth installment of the film series that originated from the writings of author J.K. Rowling. There was a time when Hogwarts was thought of as a safe haven, but thanks to Voldemort's tightening grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds, that simply isn't the case anymore. Suspecting that the castle may even harbour an outright threat, Harry finds his investigation into the matter sidelined by Dumbledore's attempts to prepare him for the monumental battle looming ever closer on the horizon. In order to discover the key to Voldemort's defences, Dumbledore enlists the aid of resourceful yet unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, who may have a clue as to their enemy's Achilles' heel. Meanwhile, teenage hormones cause the students at Hogwarts to lose focus on their true mission. As Harry and Dean Thomas clash for the affections of the lovely Ginny, Romilda Vane attempts to woo Ron away from Lavender Brown with some particularly tasty chocolates. Even Hermione isn't immune from the love bug, though she tries her hardest to suppress her growing jealousy and keep her emotions bottled up. But there is one student who remains completely aloof from the romance blossoming all around, and he intends to leave a dark impression on his classmates. With tragedy looming ever closer, it begins to appear as if peace will prove elusive in Hogwarts for some time to come.

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Vehicles move through the murky night, carrying highly secret material. And that clandestine material will only be available--after midnight--to those who have signed non-disclosure notices. The plot of the new Dan Brown novel? No, it’s actually how reviewers such as myself obtained our copies of the much-anticipated The Lost Symbol, the follow-up to the Da Vinci Code. And as we read it in (literally) the cold light of dawn, we wonder: is it likely to match the earlier book’s all-conquering, phenomenal success?

Firstly, it should be noted that The Lost Symbol has incorporated all the elements that so transfixed readers in The Da Vinci Code: a complex, mystifying plot (with the reader set quite as many challenges as the protagonist); breathless, helter-skelter pace (James Patterson's patented technique of keeping readers hooked by ending chapters with a tantalisingly unresolved situation is very much part of Dan Brown’s armoury). And, of course, the winning central character, resourceful symbologist Robert Langdon, is back, risking his life to crack a dangerous mystery involving the Freemasons (replacing the controversial trappings of the Catholic Church and homicidal monks of the last book). And while Dan Brown will never win any prizes for literary elegance, his prose is always succinctly at the service of delivering a thoroughly involving thriller narrative in vividly evoked locales (here, Washington DC, colourfully conjured).

Robert Langdon flies to Washington after an urgent invitation to speak in the Capitol building. The invitation appears to have come from a friend with copper-bottomed Masonic connections, Peter Solomon. But Langdon has been tricked: Solomon has, in fact, been kidnapped, and (echoing the grisly opening of the last book) a macabre mutilation plunges Langdon into a tortuous quest. His friend’s severed hand lies in the Capitol building, positioned to point to a George Washington portrait that shows the father of his country as a pagan deity. The ruthless criminal nemesis here is another terrifying figure in Brown’s gallery of grotesques: Mal’akh, a powerfully built eunuch with a body festooned with tattoos. Mal’akh is seeking a Masonic pyramid that possesses a formidable supernatural power, and a pulse-pounding hunt is afoot, with Langdon stalled rather than aided by the CIA.

Caveats are pointless here; Dan Brown, comfortably the world’s most successful author, is utterly review-proof. And there's no arguing with the fact that he has his finger on the pulse of the modern thriller reader, furnishing the mechanics of the blockbuster adventure with energy and invention. Like its predecessor, The Lost Symbol will unquestionably be--in fact, already is--a publishing phenomenon. --Barry Forshaw

Review
As engaging a hero as you could wish for...A narrative that can grip you like a vice --Mail on Sunday

Unputdownable...Gripping...Jaw-dropping...The blockbuster read of the year. --News of the World

You'll devour this latest offering - it's been well worth the wait. --The Sun

So compelling that several times I came close to a cardiac arrest...The Lost Symbol is as perfectly constructed as the Washington architecture it escorts us around. --Sunday Express

With best-seller status never in doubt, Brown has written another page-turner...A gripping read --BBC News

From the Publisher
The Lost Symbol is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown's No. 1 international phenomenon with 81 million copies in print worldwide and the UK's biggest selling paperback novel of all time, and it will once again feature Dan Brown's unforgettable protagonist, Robert Langdon. This book's narrative takes place in a 12-hour period, and from the first page, Dan's readers will feel the thrill of discovery as they follow Robert Langdon through a masterful and unexpected new landscape. The Lost Symbol is a brilliant and compelling thriller. Dan Brown's prodigious talent for storytelling, infused with history, codes and intrigue, is on full display in this new book.

'This novel has been a strange and wonderful journey', says Dan Brown himself. 'Weaving five years of research into the story's 12-hour timeframe was an exhilarating challenge. Robert Langdon's life clearly moves a lot faster than mine'.

Little Tikes Anniversary Edition Cozy Coupe Ride-on at Amazon UK

Little Tikes Anniversary Edition Cozy Coupe Ride-on From Little Tikes

Customer Reviews
cozy coupe cozy coupe was not the easiest toy to put together, some of the parts could have put togther at a earlier/later stage this lead to it taking longer to put togther as it made it more ackward than it needed to be, But the end product was worth it, (after a few choice words were said (kids were in bed i have to say) LOL) The kids love it (15mths and 3yrs).

Allow some time for assembly... A classic toy - but frustrating to assemble, requiring careful use of brute force... if you are buying this as a present for a toddler make sure you unbox and assemble it the night before!

Fun for kids, but a nightmare to assemble! I bought this ride in car for my son's second birthday as I'd always find him playing with them at nursery and he's a huge fan of anything with wheels. It's definately worth bearing in mind that this toy is fairly difficult to assemble, so attempt this before handing it over to your child as you'll probably find (as I did) that they'll slow the procedure down no end by sitting in it! The plastic's really hard and unyielding, which makes it difficult to fit the various compenents together and my box didn't contain the left hand roof support which had to be re-ordered directly from the manufacturers. Even when the parts were complete, I keep finding that the roof wants to detach from the supports, which is a pain when you're trying to push your child around the garden in this vehicle.

On the positive side my son absolutely loves his cozy coupe and especially adores sitting with his elbows out of the window like any self-respecting motorist would(!) It provides a good cardio vascular workout for any parent or carer who decides to push their little one around in it, which is useful. It's quite a large item so it maybe worth thinking about where you'll store it in the winter when it's not in daily use.

Manufacturer's Description The all time best selling Razor scooter just got even hotter.
Adding a bit of spark to the original kick scooter, the Spark is a modified Razor scooter with a foot controlled, detachable spark bar. Just step on the spark bar and light up your ride with a real trail of sparks.
Made from light and sturdy aluminium this classic scooter is built to withstand the use and abuse of many years in the park. With no assembly needed the Spark scooter is ready to ride straight out the box.
A patented easy fold system and collapsible handlebars make this compact scooter easy to store or carry when riding isn't appropriate.
The Spark Scooter's replaceable cartridge creates 20% more sparks than other scooters thanks to its 4 flint pads. A bonus replacement cartridge is included with your Spark scooter to continue the fun.

Customer Reviews
Great Toy, but poor quality for the money I am writing this review on behalf of my son. From his point of view he loves it. He is 6 and I'm sure he will get a lot of use out of it. From my point of view, the person who paid for it, it is very expensive for what it is. The quality isn't what it could be either. The hatches and container lids often come off and if the tank was in the hands of a ruff child things could easily break off.

Princess Peppa Pig Peppa's Palace
From Character Options

Customer Reviews
peppas palace
bought this for my daughter who loves peppa! it is nice although i think a bit basic, i dont think it is worth the money (i paid 30). you dont get enough accessories with this palace and it only comes with 2 figures so u have to buy the rest of the family seperately whereas with the peppa house you get all the characters. what is good about it is its simple for little ones to use and the palace folds together and can store all the furniture inside. peppa fans will love it like my little ones do and i think if it was a little cheaper parents like me would love it as much too!

VTech Kidizoom Multimedia Digital Camera (Pink)

Realistic Honest Review
I got this camera for my niece for xmas and to be on the safe side I thought that I would try it out before wrapping it. I used the camera for an afternoon and i think that it is absolutely brilliant especially for kids who couldnt care what 8 megapixels and optical zoom is. Granted the pictures are not up to the same standard as a proper digital camera but when you display the pictures on a tv using the av cables supplied they look really good and its got a lot of quirky little features. This is a great camera for KIDS , dont expect David Bailey quality from it as thats not what its made for - its made for FUN and I for one think that its exactly that and would give it six stars if i could ! BRILLIANT !!!

FUN TIMES!!
Got this camera for my niece on her birthday, she loved it and takes pictures at any given oppurtunity, she took it on a family holiday and ended up taking the best pictures out of the lot of us.
Real good value for money and with some nifty games and the cool pink colour she loved it.
think i may get one for myself :P

superb TOY
I get so frustrated with some reveiws on this site. This is not an adults camera, it is not supposed to be. it doesnt bother with 67 million mega mega pixels, or 23 super fantastic zoom. it is a TOY. Bought it for my 3 year old daughter for xmas and she is yet to put it down. its big, durable, good size screen, fun games, very easy to use, and you can play it on t.v. quality of pic is only ok but that is fine it is a TOY. the camera can take up to 200 pics on its own memory, battery life is good (same batteries in ours since xmas), good flash, great fun. If you want a camera for a young child so they can learn how to use, and have fun doing it, then this is the one. Remember it is a TOY!!!
