Good TV with 1 flaw
Bought as a tv for a bedroom.
The picture quality is very good as is the DVD playback. Sound is a bit tinny but better than many small flatscreen tvs.
As in the previous review the freeview electronic programming guide (epg) is terrible. It only shows what is on 1 channel at a time for the coming few hours. You have to click through each channel individually. Most epgs show all channels and what's on now, allowing you to scroll through and see what you like the look of. I've read the guide and it doesn't look as though the view can be changed.
If you're using this as a gaming tv, for the dvd or to hook up to Sky you'll be very happy. If you're planning to use the freeview epg you may find it annoying.
SONY QUALITY EVERY TIME
I bought this for my daughter as a bedroom TV. It certainly is not the cheapest but far from the most expensive too.
I'm also aware well that there are several brands which eclipse SONY in quality. However, being a firm believer in brand loyalty when something never misses a heartbeat, I continue many many years of SONY purchases, from DVD & CD players to old style Trinitron TV's & Video players. All of these products have served me well with reliability & quality. I honestly cant recall a single breakdown from any product named above.
I have no reason to doubt this latest purchase either which came with 3 years warranty also.(likely never needed) The picture is excellent and it feels robust in design too. The remote is very user friendly & auto tuning is so simple.
I thoroughly recommend this TV & SONY products overall - yes there are cheaper but I wont taking that chance !
